Fire heavily damages Kansas City, North, house

A fire heavily damaged a house in Kansas City, North, on Monday morning.

The blaze was discovered shortly after 9 a.m. Monday in the 6100 block of Northeast 49th Street, which is just north of Winnetonka High School.

Arriving firefighters reported flames coming from the house. While fighting the blaze, firefighters had to evacuate and fight the fire defensively. There were no initial reports of injuries.
