People to People International plans 60th anniversary event in Kansas City
People to People International, founded by former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, will observe its 60th anniversary in Kansas City, where it maintains its headquarters.
Eisenhower’s granddaughter, Mary Jean Eisenhower, CEO of the nonprofit organization designed to foster international understanding, said a fundraising event will be held Oct. 1 at the downtown Marriott’s Muehlebach Tower.
Plans include a reception, silent auction, dinner, live auction and dancing. Clifton Truman Daniel, grandson of former President Harry S. Truman, will speak, and Tony Orlando will entertain.
