Man dies from house fire in south Kansas City
A man died at a hospital after being rescued by firefighters from a burning house at 7041 S. Benton Ave. in Kansas City on Wednesday afternoon.
The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital with smoke inhalation and possibly a cardiac arrest.
The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. It started in a back bedroom. The man was found near the living room, a fire spokesman said. The cause remains under investigation.
