Rain shuts down rural part of U.S. 23 in Johnson County, Mo.

The Missouri Department of Transportation opted to close a rural Kansas City road Wednesday as rain and flooding from the Blackwater River affected the roadway.

U.S. 23, between county roads 1125 and 950, south of Knob Noster, in Johnson County, Mo. is currently shut down.

Motorists can check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map, located at www.modot.org, or call the toll free number, 1-888-ASK-MODOT, to get the latest information on road closings due to high water or debris covering state highways.
