Snow likely this weekend in KC, but amount depends on temps
Snow is likely in Kansas City this weekend.
How much, however, could come down to a degree or two swing in temperatures.
Highs are expected to continue to drop Friday and Saturday, clearing the way for snow by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs will be in the upper 30s to near 40 on Friday and 40s on Saturday.
A storm system is expected to move through the region this weekend, bringing rain Saturday changing to snow that night, according to the National Weather Service.
Across far north-central and northeast Missouri, up to 4 to 5 inches of snow is likely.
Two inches or more of snow is possible along and northeast of a line from St. Joseph to Moberly.
In the Kansas City metropolitan area, less than an inch to an inch is possible, although some areas in Platte and Clay counties could see up to two inches of snow.
Highs Sunday will be in the upper 20s to upper 30s, with highs in the 20s on Monday.
