Independence police seek missing woman with diminished mental capacity

Independence police on Friday sought the public’s help in finding a 57-year-old woman who was reported missing earlier this week.

Melody L. Evans has a diminished mental capacity and is without needed medication. She was last seen by a family member Wednesday at her home in the 3500 block of Pittman Road.

Evans is described as 5 feet 8 and about 219 pounds. She is believed to be on foot in the Northeast area of Kansas City and has been seen at a McDonald’s restaurant near Independence and Hardesty avenues.

Independence police ask anyone with information about Evans to call 816-836-3600.
