Lenexa woman drowns on a river float trip in Missouri
A Lenexa woman drowned Tuesday afternoon after her canoe capsized on the Black River in southeastern Missouri.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said a passing floater found Dianne M. Humfeld, 59, trapped underneath her canoe. Humfeld was pronounced dead at 2:42 p.m.
The drowning occurred on the west fork of the Black River, a popular recreation area in Reynolds County.
