Five Overland Park residents displaced by house fire
Five people were displaced by a house fire at an Overland Park home Tuesday evening, but no injuries were reported, according to authorities.
Fire crews arrived shortly before 7 p.m. at the home near West 129th and Farley streets.
The residents, alerted by a smoke alarm, had exited the house after shutting a basement door that apparently helped contain the fire to the basement, according to the Overland Park Fire Department. Smoke damage affected the rest of the house.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
