One person injured in Kansas City house fire

One person was rushed to the hospital after a fire broke out in a Kansas City home.

The fire was reported about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 9000 block of Holmes Road. Firefighters headed to the scene saw heavy smoke coming from the house.

Firefighters found an injured person in the front yard. The person was rushed to a hospital. The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.
