70-year-old Leavenworth woman is killed in Platte County wreck
A 70-year-old Leavenworth woman died Friday in a single-vehicle wreck north of Waldron, according to the Platte County sheriff’s office.
The wreck was reported about 12:30 p.m. after a 2012 Toyota Scion traveling west on Jones-Meyer Road near Baker Ridge Circle apparently left the road, became airborne and struck a large tree, according to the sheriff’s office.
The woman, who was a passenger in the car, died at the scene. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
