KCK fire victim identified

Kansas City, Kan., authorities have identified a 69-year-old woman who died in a Sunday fire as Mammi Johnson.

When firefighters arrived shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, they found heavy fire throughout a four-unit apartment house at the Juniper Gardens complex in the 200 block of Edgerton Drive.

They found Johnson’s body in an upstairs bedroom.

A man sustained burns on his back and feet, and a firefighter was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.
