5-year-old twin fire victims upgraded to serious condition
The condition of twin boys injured in a Northland house fire on Friday has been upgraded to serious, hospital officials said.
Firefighters rescued the 5-year-olds, identified as Zahed and Abed Abdelrahman, from a burning home after an older sister escaped through a window and alerted neighbors. After being taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital, the boys were transferred to the pediatric burn unit at the University of Kansas Hospital. They initially were listed in critical condition.
