Crash on I-29 kills Kansas City, Kan., man
A 58-year-old Kansas City, Kan., was killed early Saturday when his vehicle was struck from behind on Interstate 29 in Platte County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Michael Sear was driving north on the highway when his Kia Soul was struck from behind by a Subaru Crosstrek driven by Nicholas Sanders of Platte City.
Both cars left the road and crashed into a median barrier.
The wreck occurred about 1:30 a.m. on I-29 just south of Mexico City Avenue.
Sear was pronounced dead at North Kansas City Hospital.
Sanders, 24, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Platte County Detention Center.
