Police surround south Kansas City motel, take three into custody
Police surrounded a motel in south Kansas City on Tuesday afternoon and, after a standoff that lasted hours, arrested three people on drug charges.
Police had earlier said they were called to remove an armed person from a motel room. Officers responded to the situation about 3:20 p.m. at a motel near 118th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard.
Shortly after 7 p.m., police said the incident ended peacefully and three people were taken into custody on felony drug warrants.
