Local astronomer captures image of Comet Lovejoy
A local astronomer captured a stunning image of Comet Lovejoy from a rural area near Kansas City.
Astrophotographer Dave Lane combined a series of three time-lapse images Sunday night to create a picture of the comet and its tail near the Pleiades star cluster.
Lane, a member of the Astronomy Society of Kansas City, said he used a Canon 6D at 1600ISO and a 180mm ED Nikkor lens.
