Public visitation honors KCK detective fatally shot Monday
A visitation Friday afternoon at a Kansas City, Kan., church drew dozens of police, firefighters and citizens who paid their respects to a detective who was shot and killed Monday.
The visitation at Trinity United Methodist Church was open to the public.
Det. Brad Lancaster was fatally shot while attempting to stop a suspicious person who ran from other officers just south of Kansas Speedway.
A public funeral for Lancaster will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Children’s Mercy Park, home of the Sporting Kansas City soccer team, at 1 Sporting Way in Kansas City, Kan.
