Pleasant Hill school, police, juvenile authorities investigate gun threat

A Pleasant Hill Intermediate School student threatened to bring a gun to school, district officials announced early Friday on the district’s Facebook page.

After the student made the threat Thursday, the district notified Pleasant Hill police and the Cass County Juvenile Office, the Facebook posting said.

Those agencies “worked with district administrators overnight to investigate and have taken the necessary steps to guarantee the safety of PHIS students and staff,” the statement said.

“We would like to ensure parents that school administrators will follow discipline policies and that students who make threats will not be at school. School administrators and staff at all buildings have been notified of the situation.”

The intermediate school at 1204 E. 163rd St. serves about 300 students in fifth and sixth grades.
