House fire near Loose Park damages home and kills dog
Fire damaged a house and killed at least one dog Thursday in a neighborhood south of Loose Park in Kansas City, Mo., according to authorities.
Firefighters were called to the house in the 800 block of West 57th Street about 2:30 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Jimmy Walker.
After entering the house, firefighters were forced out again by flames. The crews returned and put the fire under control. The house was badly damaged.
Of two dogs in the house, one was dead Thursday afternoon, Walker said.
