Funeral announced for slain KCK detective Brad Lancaster
Funeral arrangements for a Kansas City, Kan., detective who was shot and killed Monday have been announced.
A public funeral for Detective Brad Lancaster will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Children’s Mercy Park, home of the Sporting Kansas City soccer team, at 1 Sporting Way in Kansas City, Kan.
On Friday a visitation will be held at 4 p.m. at Trinity Community Church at 5010 Parallel Parkway.
Lancaster was fatally shot while attempting to stop a suspect who ran from other officers just south of Kansas Speedway.
Lancaster, 39, was a nine-year member of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department. He was an Air Force veteran who formerly worked for the Platte County sheriff’s office.
