Stormy weather ahead for the Kansas City area
Stormy weather looms for the Kansas City area on Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
A few strong storms were expected in eastern Kansas and western Missouri beginning about midday Sunday and possibly lasting through the middle of next week. They might include isolated severe storms with heavy rain, hail and lightning.
Stronger storms would be more widespread Monday, the weather service said.
The area north of Interstate 70 could see up to two inches of rain through Monday. Lesser amounts would be expected to the south.
High temperatures on Sunday and Monday would be between 75 and 80 degrees, with lows around 70.
