Kansas City, Kan., man fatally injured in crash near Truman Sports Complex
A 36-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man suffered fatal injuries Sunday afternoon when he crashed his Chevrolet Camaro near the Truman Sports Complex.
The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Eastern Avenue, just south of Raytown Road.
The man was headed south in a Chevrolet Camaro when he lost control of the car. He hit a rock cliff face that runs along the east side of the road, said Sgt. Bill Mahoney with the Kansas City Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit.
Emergency crews rushed the man to the hospital, where he died.
Police were investigating what caused the man to lose control of his vehicle. He was alone at the time, and police do not believe another vehicle was in the vicinity at the time.
