Lee’s Summit man killed in crash near Kearney
A 61-year-old Lee’s Summit man died early Tuesday when the pickup he was driving ran off the road, struck a guardrail and overturned.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the man as James C. Davis.
A 64-year-old male passenger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Davis was driving south on Interstate 35 north of Kearney in a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche when he ran off the left side of the road about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Both Davis and his passenger were wearing seat belts.
