Showers, thunderstorms expected to linger in KC area much of this week
It would be a good idea to have your umbrella or rain gear with you when you head out the door for work on Monday morning.
And you might want to keep it with you for most of the week.
The Kansas City area will see periods of rain beginning early Monday and continuing with off-and-on showers through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.
Monday’s rains were expected to arrive about 4 a.m. in Kansas City and slow the morning commute in the Kansas City area. Rains were expected to fall through the morning hours.
A few thunderstorms are likely this week, but strong storms and flooding are not expected.
Up to 1.25 inches of rain is expected to fall across the area through Wednesday. Areas west of Kansas City probably will see heavier rain, while areas to the east will see less.
Highs are expected to be in the upper 60s to lower 70s Monday through Thursday.
