Olathe man is killed in wreck near Kansas Speedway

An 85-year-old Olathe man died in a wreck Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 435 in Wyandotte County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Robert A. Nash died in the accident, which occurred about 3:50 p.m. The patrol said Nash was driving south on I-435 when his 2005 Honda Element drifted onto the shoulder and struck a bridge pillar for Kansas Avenue.

The right lane and interstate shoulder were closed for part of the afternoon but opened by 6 p.m., the patrol said.
