Sobriety checkpoint stops yield 13 drunk driver arrests
The Kansas City Police Department with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, conducted a sobriety checkpoint from 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday and stopped 339 vehicles at 70th Street and Troost Avenue.
Officers arrested 13 motorists for driving drunk, apprehended one fugitive, and made one narcotics arrest.
Other violations included three motorists driving on suspended or revoked license, a minor in possession, a situation of child endangerment and six people with city warrants.
