Kansas transportation officials plan to close two key Interstate 35 ramps to Interstate 435 in coming days for pavement work. Both will remained closed for extended periods, officials said.

The first closure is to begin at 10 p.m. Sunday and involves the northbound I-35 ramp to westbound I-435. Pavement repair crews will work around the clock. Kansas Department of Transportation officials expect the ramp to reopen in late June.

The second closure is slated to begin at 10 p.m. Monday and involves the southbound I-35 ramp to eastbound I-435 for around-the-clock pavement work that is expected to last until late October.

Transportation officials released maps showing detour routes that will be implemented along I-35 and U.S. 69.

“Drivers should expect major delays during peak commute times and must use alternate routes throughout the project duration,” the department said in a release.

Daily traffic information involving the project will be posted at www.jocogateway.com.
