3-year-old girl nearly drowns in Gardner
A 3-year-old girl was resuscitated by a lifeguard who discovered her face down at the Gardner Aquatic Center on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The guard observed the child was unresponsive at 3:20 p.m. and began CPR. The girl then began breathing and vomiting on her own, police said. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation and was reported Wednesday night to be in stable condition.
Police concluded the incident was an accident and no neglect or abuse was involved.
