More than 2 inches reported near K-7 and College; power outages reported across the metro
A weather spotter reported more than 2 inches of rain near Kansas 7 and College Boulevard in Olathe. A flash flood watch remains in effect for most of the area through Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 11 p.m. there were reports of 65 mph wind gusts in Smithville and 70 mph winds west of Kansas City, Kan.
Kansas City Power & Light Co. reported 88 percent of customers were without power in zip code 64098.
Straight-line wind damage was reported in Marshall, Mo.
Power lines are reported down across the area.
The line of storms continued south and eastward. The severe thunderstorm warning stretched from Topeka to Boonville and includes most of the central and southern metropolitan area until midnight.
