Teen pedestrian struck and injured by vehicle in Olathe
A 17-year-old pedestrian and his dog were struck and injured by a vehicle in Olathe on Tuesday, according to authorities.
The accident occurred about 6:15 p.m., when the teenager and his dog were using a crosswalk in the 1700 block of West Dennis Avenue and were struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound, according to Olathe police.
Police said the crosswalk appeared to be functioning properly at the time of the accident.
The 17-year-old was transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition. The dog was transported to a veterinary hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, a 59-year-old woman, was not injured in the accident.
Olathe police continued to investigate the accident.
