Westwood man, 88, rescued after being trapped for two days beneath toppled shelves
Medical workers rescued an 88-year-old Johnson County man Thursday who had been pinned under a fallen set of shelves for nearly two days, according to authorities.
Emergency crews were called to a home in the 4700 block of Adams Street about 6 p.m., after a relative found the man, according to Westwood Chief of Police Greg O'Halloran.
The 88-year-old resident had been trapped under the shelves after they fell over on him about a day and a half earlier, according to police. The man was found by a 67-year-old nephew who came to check on him.
Medical workers reported that the man was probably suffering from dehydration but otherwise showed no major injuries. The man was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
