Independence police investigate critical injury accident on U.S. 24
Independence police investigated an accident Friday afternoon that left one person in critical condition on U.S. 24 near Parker Avenue.
The accident was reported about 3:40 p.m. and caused traffic delays.
Police believed it was caused by a westbound Ford 350 pickup truck that cut off another vehicle in traffic.
The truck had been reported stolen, police said. The driver of the truck left the scene and was arrested shortly afterward.
