Munday on Monday: Awards season

That time of the season we’re fast moving towards:

When everyone talks of the acting awards.

Yes, clearly for drama it’s hard to exceed

The well-polished acting this season will breed.

So hand out the statues: Best Twist in the Plot;

Best Acting as Someone You Clearly Are Not;

The Boldest; the Slyest; the Best of the Quips;

And add to the list for Best Sticking to Script.

These “Best of” awards are not cinema prizes;

They’re born of campaigning (which hardly surprises).

So ditch all the Hollywood; here is the reason:

They’re amateurs, see, with elections in season.
