Shawnee Mission Parkway open early for morning rush

Crews have re-opened all lanes of Shawnee Mission Parkway, or U.S. 56, between Interstate 35 and Antioch Road to unrestricted traffic.

A pavement repair and resurfacing project that began a week ago led to the full closure over the weekend of the highway’s eastbound and westbound lanes.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said the lanes were back in use Sunday afternoon, about 12 hours ahead of schedule.
