7-year-old boy drowns at Kansas City apartment pool
A 7-year-old boy drowned Sunday at a Kansas City apartment complex pool, where his mother found him at the bottom of five feet of water.
The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital after officers and an ambulance were called about 5:30 p.m. to the Willowind Apartments, 3927 Willow Ave.
The child’s name was not immediately released, and his death is being investigated as an accidental drowning. Police said there were no signs of foul play.
The mother told emergency crews that the boy had been playing with other kids in the 3-foot end of the pool before she noticed him at the bottom of the deeper end.
