Red-light-running crash involving semitrailer caught on Excelsior Springs traffic camera
Excelsior Springs police are using video of a collision involving a semitrailer caught by a traffic camera as a warning to drivers to be on the alert for red-light runners.
The crash occurred about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday at northbound U.S. 69 and McCleary Road.
The video shows traffic moving along U.S. 69 as a yellow four-door hatchback approaches on McCleary Road. The car runs a stop light and collides with a semitrailer.
Police posted the video to the department’s Facebook page saying, “Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. It’s another reminder that even though you have a green light at an intersection, be prepared for other vehicles that may (either intentionally or unintentionally) violate the stop lights.”
