Third of four streetcars arrives in KC

The third of Kansas City’s four streetcar vehicles arrived Wednesday after a cross-country trip from the CAF manufacturing facility in Elmira, N.Y.

Streetcar officials had said they were expecting the car to arrive Thursday morning, but then it suddenly appeared in River Market at about 3 p.m., before the afternoon rush hour.

The fourth streetcar is scheduled to arrive in late March. The downtown streetcar system, running from River Market to Union Station, is expected to have a grand opening in late April or early May.
