Two men die in wrong-way crash in Cass County

Two men died early Saturday in a crash on Interstate 49 in northern Cass County, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The victims were identified as Shannon L. Hemingway, 38, of Kansas City, and Clinten E. Fields, 26, of Butler, Mo.

An Oldsmobile driven by Hemingway was traveling north in the southbound lanes of the highway when it struck a Ford vehicle head-on shortly before 1 a.m., the patrol said.

Both men died at the scene.
