Chris Tindall, 41, who had been with the department since 2000, was reportedly suffering from chest pains after responding to a call for service.

Tindall went to the hospital and was treated and released. He died following his discharge from the hospital.

In addition to being a firefighter, Tindall was also a handler for the Missouri Search and Rescue K9.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at John Knox Village Pavilion in Lee's Summit. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, also at John Knox.

Tindall will receive line-of-duty death honors.
