Another light snow and freezing drizzle Wednesday night will likely make roads slick during the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued a winter weather advisory for the Kansas City area from 9 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday. That followed Tuesday’s light snow, which made roads sloppy during the afternoon rush hour.

On Wednesday afternoon, some metro area road crews began preparing for the next snow.

Light wintry precipitation was expected to move into eastern Kansas and western Missouri overnight, bring up to an inch of snow to the metro area, according to the forecast.

Some areas west of the state line could see up to two inches of snow.

Light snow was expected to begin near the state line as early as midnight, but little was expected to accumulate until close to sunrise. That timing could affect the morning rush hour.

Freezing drizzle could cause icing Thursday morning.
