Flag Day salute will honor Old Glory and veterans
Mary Eisenhower, granddaughter of former president Dwight D. Eisenhower, will attend a Flag Day Salute to Veterans at the National Airline History Museum at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The public is encouraged to bring their worn-out flags and dispose of them in the red, white and blue repository at the museum at 201 N.W. Lou Holland Drive in Kansas City.
The retirement ceremony will include a breakfast for veterans, and some will participate in a flyover on a historic B-25.
Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders also will speak.
