Man dies after being pulled from burning KCK house

A man died at a hospital after being critically injured in a Tuesday morning house fire in Kansas City, Kan.

The fire was reported about 8:10 a.m. in a single-family house in the 5000 block of Argentine Boulevard.

One person escaped and told arriving firefighters that another person was inside. Rescue crews brought the victim out of the structure within a few minutes, according to fire officials.

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition but died later. His identity had not been released.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Damage to the house and its contents was estimated at $60,000.
