Lee’s Summit woman with dementia found dead outdoors
The body of an 89-year-old Lee’s Summit woman with dementia who was missing overnight without a coat or shoes was found dead outdoors on Sunday, police said.
The body of Jeanette A. Gauss was found behind a residence about 10 blocks from her home.
She had been last seen at 8 p.m. Saturday at 213 N.W. Murray Road. She was wearing a pajama jumpsuit. Temperatures were in the single digits overnight.
A silver alert was issued about 9 a.m. Sunday. Less than an hour later a police spokesman said she had been found dead.
