I-49 will close this weekend in Harrisonville

Both the north and south lanes of Interstate 49 will be closed in Harrisonville from Friday night to 10 a.m. Sunday so workers can remove the old Missouri 291 bridge.

The Missouri Department of Transportation said interstate traffic will be diverted during the closure using the Missouri 291 exit and entrance ramps.

The old bridge was replaced late last year with a diverging diamond interchange and twin new bridges south of the existing one.
