World War I Museum sets attendance record

Paid attendance at the National World War I Museum in Kansas City set a record Tuesday.

The previous record was 171,030, set in 2007 in the museum’s first full year.

Scott Jemison of Nixa, Mo., won a prize package worth nearly $1,000 for purchasing the 171,031st ticket this year. The prize included tickets to sporting and cultural events and a $500 gift card.

The museum ended the day and the year with total paid attendance of 172,148.
