Man faces murder charge after killing at Edgerton bar

A 32-year-old Edgerton , Kan., man was charged Monday with second-degree murder in the killing Saturday of another man at a bar in Edgerton.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as Tyler Matthew Knudsen of Edgerton. Officials think Knudsen was in his early 20s.

Gregory B. David Cooper made his first court appearance Monday. He also was charged with attempted aggravated battery. Bond was set at $250,000.

Deputies were called to the Boxcar Bar & Grill, 100 E. Second St., about 9:45 p.m. According to court records, Cooper was swinging a pool cue at a third person’s head when Knudsen was killed.
