One dies in crash as police try to stop car

One person died when a car police were trying to stop crashed Sunday night near the intersection of 75th Street and James A. Reed Road in southeast Kansas City.

The incident began when a Raytown police officer tried to stop a car, said Raytown Detective Nancy Willis.

Kansas City police continued to investigate, Willis said.
