Police identify teens killed in crash following pursuit Saturday in southeast KC

Police on Monday identified two men killed in a wreck early Saturday as Charles A. Traylor and Theodore R. Rowe III.

Both were 17 and Kansas City residents.

Traylor, who was driving the eastbound Honda Prelude, lost control of the vehicle about 4 a.m. at Gregory Boulevard and Oldham Road, police said. The car slid off the road and slammed into a large tree.

Rowe, the passenger, died at the scene. Traylor died shortly after arriving at a hospital.

The vehicle had eluded officers shortly before the wreck, but police were not pursuing it at the time, according to police.
