Munday on Monday: Christmas cards

The sending out of Christmas cards: a puzzle that’s intense;

Consider all the many weeks in which they could be sent.

Do I opt to mail ’em promptly? Am I wiser just to wait?

So, is Halloween too early? Is the Super Bowl too late?

And after all, as Christmas nears, the crush of mail smothers —

Will my cards seem insignificant in batches with some others?

If earlier, they’ll stand out more, and clearly seem unique

(At risk of awful penmanship inviting a critique.)

Perhaps I’m overthinking this; yes, clearly too much thought…

To worry so of Christmas cards I haven’t even bought!
