The holiday — it traps and snares

And catches us quite unawares.

It’s nearly here? We dart our eyes;

It comes as such a stark surprise!

Oh, why is there no one assigned

To let us know ahead of time?

It clearly needs a jolt, a shake —

Publicity, for heaven’s sake!
