As rain continued to fall across Kansas City Friday, the National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory for the area until 6 a.m. Saturday.

The freezing rain advisory was also issued for parts of northwestern Missouri and eastern Kansas.

According to the National Weather Service, a light glaze of ice is possible for northwestern and north central Missouri.

In eastern Kansas, light ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible Friday.

A flood watch is also in effect for central Missouri and east central Kansas.

Rain is likely to continue through the weekend, with freezing rain and drizzle possible before 9 a.m. Saturday and a chance of precipitation at 50 percent Saturday night.

The National Weather Service predicts a 50 percent chance of rain Sunday, with a high near 40 degrees.
